DCFS launches new data dashboard

Data dashboard with 3 indicators in boxes: 16,923 intake reports, 98.9% of children are assessed to be able to safely remain home, 9,699 total families supported (stats are for the past 30 days)

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has launched a new online data dashboard. The Illinois Child Welfare Insights Tool provides near real-time information about indicators maintained by DCFS such as

the number of abuse and neglect reports filed with the agency,
family case worker-to-case ratios, and
the length of time children spend in foster care.

Data are updated daily, with some data available at both the state and county level. Users can choose to view data from the last 30 days or from the last year.
