Geographic Region: IDHS Regions
The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) has divided the state into five regions. The regions are collections of counties except Region 1, which is Cook County.
Almost all data available by county are available by IDHS region on the IECAM database. The lone exception is early intervention, which does not report data for several counties that serve fewer than 10 children, so IECAM can’t report accurate sums for the regions.
Because IDHS regions are aggregations of a large number of counties, searching in IECAM by IDHS regions is a good way to get data on large regional areas of the state (i.e., north, north central, south central, south), or to get data for reports that are directly tied to IDHS activities.
