These visualizations show the number of refugee arrivals in Illinois by country of origin for the 2015-18 calendar years. Note that this data is for individuals participating in the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) and does not represent wider immigration numbers.

Note: Visualizations do not include refugee arrivals less than 20.
Note: A refugee is defined as a person who has fled his/her country due to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group of political opinion. Security vetting for refugees applying to enter the U.S. can take between 18-24 months.
