This week the Governor’s Office announced that Illinois K-12 districts will be receiving $7 billion in federal funding to support students returning to the classroom after distance and hybrid learning due to COVID-19. With this influx of funding, the Governor called for education experts to share best practices and recommendations for this transition. The result is a 180-page guide filled with ideas to help school districts renew learning and provide ongoing feedback.

The guide was designed with input from more than 300 stakeholders in collaboration with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE), Illinois Community College Board (ICCB), Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), and the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development (GOECD) and support from A Better Chicago and Advance Illinois.
