NAEYC Survey Finds 40% of U.S. Child Care Centers Will Close Without Additional Funding

A new survey by The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) found more than 40% of the nation’s child care centers say they will be forced to shut down if they don’t get additional funding.

The survey findings represent the responses of a non-randomized sample of 5,344 individuals from all 50 states working in center or home-based child care programs who completed the survey between June 19th and 30th, 2020.

NAEYC is asking Congress to provide substantial investments to stabilize child care and early learning so the child care workforce can continue to support children, families, and the American economy through the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and beyond.
