A bill to allow individuals with criminal justice backgrounds to work as Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) caseworkers has passed the Illinois State House and will now head to the Senate.

State Bill 3959 allows those with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice to become certified as Child Protective Investigators with DCFS. This would allow for more of the current vacancies within DCFS to be filled.
