The State of Preschool 2018 Yearbook is the 16th edition of the National Institute for Early Education Research‘s (NIEER) annual report tracking state-funded preschool access, resources, and quality.

National findings show preschool enrollment in state-funded programs increased slowly once again. States added only 21,292 three-year-olds and 33,827 four-year-olds over 2016-2017 totals. Although the increases were larger than last year, the overall difference is small, and there has been little progress towards increased enrollment for several years.

In addition, the report covers state preschool policies related to program quality and funding/resources.
