New Social Vulnerability Map for Cook County Available

A new public map reflecting the Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) across Cook County is now available. The term “SVI” is used by the Centers for Disease Control and Protection to describe “the vulnerability of a community to human suffering and financial loss in the event of a disaster.”

Cook County has launched this mapping tool, as well as a coronavirus data dashboard from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, in order to help visualize and address disparities in communities most affected by COVID-19.
