Illinois Makes Progress Serving Pre-K Children in 2019 According to New NIEER Report

Illinois made gains in pre-K enrollment while maintaining spending per child and quality standards in 2019, according to The State of Preschool 2019 report released this week from the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER).

NIEER also points out, in this Illinois-specific press release, that the COVID-19 pandemic is now putting early childhood education at risk, and an expected recession will pose many challenges.
