The number of centers with one accreditation or multiple accreditations in a geographic area for licensed and license-exempt child care centers. The number of homes with one accreditation (from NAFCC) for licensed family child care homes.

Geographic region: These data are available by state, county, township, state House district, state Senate district, congressional district, ISBE region, IDHS region, municipality, unit and elementary school district, ZCTA, Postal Zip Code, and Chicago Community Area.
Note on Individual accrediting agencies: IECAM presents data on the number of sites that have one accreditation or multiple accreditations by geographic area. Note on licensed centers: The licensed centers included are those whose regulation status is “regulated/licensed” and whose center type is “Child Care Center,” “CCC Park/Recreation only,” or “Preschool.”
Note on individual sessions: The “individual sessions” included in this count are day, Session 1, and Session 2. Child care centers or homes are not included in this count if they had sessions only for evening, overnight, weekend.
Centers or homes that served no children and centers that served “summer only” were not counted in the number of sites.
